Henkel Awarded MBI’s Masters Award for Exceptional Project Implementation at Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa

Henkel Construction had an award winning week at Master Builders of Iowa’s (MBI) annual Winter Conference.  Henkel Construction was recognized with the Masters Award in the $5-10M project category for excellence in project implementation on the Energy Center & Loading Dock Expansion Project at Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa (MMCNI).

The Masters Award has been created to recognize the exceptional efforts of a construction team in executing the process of completing a project. This award is meant to recognize the role of the constructor and projects should reflect exceptional management skills, imagination, perseverance under unusual and challenging conditions, responsiveness to client needs, and innovative construction techniques.

The Energy Center & Loading Dock expansion at MMCNI was a multi-phased project which included a completely new emergency power generation and distribution system for the entire hospital.  Henkel crews installed two 2.25 MW emergency power generators that are Tier 4i certified which are the first of its kind to be installed in Iowa.  The project involved many carefully scheduled shutdowns of all critical areas of the hospital, often at night.
