Henkel Recognized with the Leadership in Workforce Recruitment Award by Master Builders of Iowa
Henkel Construction has made workforce recruitment a priority for several years, but even more so in the last year as industry leaders projected statistics of a staggering worker shortage in the next decade. Henkel decided to be part of the solution and began extensive planning to draw people into the industry. During 2017, we made a concerted effort to take action every single month to increase awareness of careers in the construction industry. As part of our efforts, we provided educational opportunities for students and parents to learn more about the opportunities available in the industry. Henkel’s comprehensive recruitment program involved reaching out to various age levels. As a result of our efforts, Master Builders of Iowa (MBI) presented Henkel Construction Company with the 2018 Leadership in Workforce Recruitment Award.
“We’re very honored to receive this award. We recognize the recruitment challenges faced not only by our industry, but in the general marketplace. Over the past few years, we’ve implemented a number of new initiatives to encourage students and young adults to explore the rewarding and enriching career opportunities that exist in the construction industry.” said Katrina Moore, Human Resource Director. “With the raised awareness of this issue, I’m confident that as an industry, we’ll overcome these challenges” she added.
The Leadership in Workforce Recruitment Award recognizes the outstanding efforts of companies who are actively engaged in solving our industry’s labor shortage. This award is presented each year to a MBI member company who has displayed exceptional effort, engagement and leadership in communicating to future industry workers that there are incredible career opportunities in the commercial construction industry.
Henkel doesn’t plan to stop promoting the industry. The foundation has been laid, but Henkel will continue to build on creating awareness about the opportunities in construction.
