Kanabec State Bank, Mora, Minnesota
This substantial project for Kanabec State Bank in Mora, Minnesota involved the removal of an existing industrial building. The existing building’s concrete was crushed and ground into small gravel size pieces and used under the building and parking lot. This recycling idea along with other green techniques, such as daylighting in the atrium area, are only part of what makes this bank so unique. The design incorporates a “Northwoods” style with a blend of contemporary elements to create an exciting, yet very efficient and functional bank. Heavy-wood timber structural elements along with stone, brick, wood, and a fireplace provide the “Northwoods” feel, while curving bulkheads and flat-screen televisions are contemporary design elements incorporated into the design.
Henkel has also completed many projects for Kanabec’s sister bank First Citizens National Bank. The first project Henkel was hired for was to renovate FCNB’s main bank in Mason City. They were so thrilled with the success of the bank that FCNB has hired Henkel numerous times for facility improvements in many North Iowa communities including Clarion, Charles City, Osage, and others. Our most recent project with FCNB is their new branch banking facility in Clarion, Iowa.
Henkel is the company we trust for our construction needs. Whether it’s a small remodel or building an entirely new bank, Henkel tackles each project with the same enthusiasm and attention to detail. We really value the expertise they bring to each project, and we enjoy partnering with a local firm that is so community-minded.
