Historic Park Inn Hotel, Mason City, Iowa

Historic Park Inn - Mason City

Henkel Construction Company was selected as the Construction Manager for the Park Inn Hotel with City National Bank. The building was designed by architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Wright is one of the most prominent Twentieth Century American Architects. The Park Inn Hotel is the last hotel designed by Wright that is still in existence. The City National Bank is one of two remaining banks Wright designed. Wright made famous the Park Inn’s prairie school design. In 1972, the structure was placed on the National Register of Historic Places. The hotel and bank have been restored to their original glory. The design team was led by Bergland + Cram.

The Historic Park Inn Hotel project received a Preservation Honor Award from the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Accepting the award was Henkel Construction Company (CMa), Wright on the Park Inc. (Owner), Bergland + Cram Architects (Designer), and the City of Mason City (Grant Co-Sponsor).
