This early 1900s building in downtown Manly had been left for ruin. A local farmer purchased it and hired Design-Build team Accord Architecture and Henkel Construction to do a complete exterior and interior renovation. This is more than a renovation project: portions of the building’s shell and floors were in such disarray that it was not safe to be inside it. Accord’s design improved access and egress from the building, improving safety for the apartments upstairs. We accomplished this by adding an egress stair and deck to the rear of the building.
The project was split into two phases. We completed the first phase, consisting of three second story apartments, in 2025. Phase two, completed in 2026, is a first floor commercial space that includes a music studio, bar, and kitchen. These additions not only breathe new life into this building, but they also add an amenity to the community of Manly.
