MercyOne - Energy Center - Mason City

Henkel completed a multi-phase expansion project which included a new emergency power generation and distribution system for the entire hospital. The project also included an expansion of the hospital’s loading dock, waste removal system, new concrete paving and site work including and underground storm water retention system.

The Energy Center building was constructed of precast wall panels and incorporated state of the art acoustical elements to meet the sound limits of the surrounding residential neighborhood including a decorative precast concrete wall screen north of the project site. Henkel crews installed two 2.25 MW emergency power generators that are Tier 4i certified which were the first of its kind to be installed in Iowa. The project involved many carefully scheduled shutdowns of all critical areas of the hospital, often at night. All phases of this project were completed on schedule.
